From the President

Welcome to Jacksonville Country Day School from the Parents' Association!

We have been busy planning and implementing activities since early June and are looking forward to a year filled with excitement, education, and lots of fun! These activities could not have been planed without parent involvement in our children's education.

JCDS is well known for its Parents' Association, which is made exceptional by the many parents who volunteer their time and effort. Last year, the Parents' Association raised $115,000 to support our school and provided countless hours of volunteer service as we worked to promote a strong family and learning environment at JCDS.

There are several ways that you can volunteer:

  1. You may participate in our PEP program. PEP stands for Parents Encouraging Pupils and is our volunteer program that is recognized throughout the state and nationally among independent private schools. This program provides many opportunities for your direct involvement in your child's classroom, before and after school music programs, and even helping with the arts and sciences!
  2. You may also volunteer for various fundraising and social events that the Parents' Association sponsors throughout the year such as the Gala, the Book Fair, and the Fall Carnival. And, in May, we will honor our wonderful faculty and staff with our teacher/staff appreciation luncheon.
  3. We hope you will also plan to attend our family-oriented events during the year such as the Family Picnic and the various Family Nights.

All parents are members of the Parents' Association, and we hope you take the opportunity to volunteer your time and attend the events. This is a great way to become involved and familiar with your child’s school, meet their friends and other parents. This year sign-ups for volunteer opportunities can be done online. We wish you and your children a memorable and successful school year. See you soon!
