The admissions process at JCDS is designed to match students with the mission of the school. The process includes a tour for parents, a school day visit for the student, and a student evaluation or testing. Our hope is that the process will help families, students, and the school make choices about the best placement to ensure success when students are enrolled in the school. Complete and return the APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION* with: A non-refundable $75 application fee A copy of the applicant's birth certificate 2. Mark the test date on your calendar! Applicants with applications on file for the 2009 - 2010 school year will be evaluated on the following dates: Pre-Junior Kindergarten, January 23, 2009 Junior Kindergarten, January 10, 2009 Senior Kindergarten, January 24, 2009 Elementary Grades, January 24, 2009 Specific testing information will be sent to applicants by mail in December, 2008. If application is made after the evaluation dates, individual evaluations will be scheduled by appointment. DUE DATES: Admission Forms (Teacher Recommendation, Parent Information Form and Birth Certificate) are due: Jr. Kindergarten, January 4, 2008 Senior Kindergarten, January 11, 2008 Elementary Grades, January 11, 2008 3. Complete the Paretn Questionaire and return it to the Admissions Office. Applicants will receive this form by mail in December 2008. 4. Ensure applicant's current teacher completes the TEACHER RECOMMENDATION FORM* and returns it directly to JCDS Admissions Office. Applicants will receive this form by mail in December,2008. 5. Applicants for grades 1-6 must take the TRANSCRIPT REQUEST* to the applicant's current school office and have records sent to JCDS Admissions Office. Applicants will receive this form by mail in December,2008. 6. Applicants for grades 2-6 must schedule a full day class visit at JCDS during January,2009. Call the Admissions Office in December, 2008, to schedule a visit. REPLY DATES: Applicants tested in January will be notified about acceptance in February. All other applicants will be notified about acceptance on a rolling admission basis. WAITING LISTS: Once all classes are filled, a qualified candidate will be placed on a wait list and notification will be sent to the applicant.
FINANCIAL AID: For information regarding financial aid, please contact the Business Office. The deadline for filing financial aid applications is March 30. The Scholarship Committee of the Board of Trustees meets in April and notification of financial aid awards is made at that time.
