The annual Voices of Distinction program, which was held this week in the Fine Arts Center, showcased the incredible literary and performance talents of the graduating sixth grade class. The program is the brainchild of sixth grade teacher Donna Hamm, whose retirement after this school year made the show even more poignant.
The creativity and breadth of learning of the students shone through in all of the performances. The recited poetry put the “art” in “language art” and the music and dance numbers were truly astounding.
Terry Bartow, head of school, said the performances were as good as “high school shows” he has witnessed. Mr. Bartow also said the “sky is the limit” for this sixth grade class. Louise Morrow, associate head of school, said the students demonstrated the excellence that reflects Mrs. Hamm’s career at Jax Country Day.
